NORTHERN ADVOCACY. ISLAND SOLUTIONS.

This the Mission Statement describes the spirit of my law practice. Northern Advocacy refers to legal services which reflect the values of our community: committed, collaborative, and caring. Island Solutions refers to legal resolutions which are both sourced at home and reflective of the unique attributes of our community.

Manitoulin Island’s justice system is an intersection of social work and law with community programs focusing on family healing, circular plans of care, as well as health and well-being for the body and mind. I believe in working within these established and successful community programs, rather than around them. By doing so, I hope to support and serve Manitoulin Island in a manner that promotes our strongly held community values.

I provide accessible legal services.  We have plenty of activities to keep little ones busy during your appointment. Should you require accommodation due to mobility needs or a lack of transportation, please let me know and we can make it work.

Welcome.

My name is Samantha Ramage, and I am a proud member of the Manitoulin Island community. I received my formal education at Manitoulin Secondary School, Cambrian College, and most recently, Lakehead University where I obtained both my Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor.  I completed my Integrated Practice Curriculum (IPC) placement with Falconers LLP, before being called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in September 2016.

I had lived throughout both northwestern and northeastern Ontario before my family settled on Manitoulin Island in 1998. Many of my achievements stem from the values instilled in me while growing up on Manitoulin Island, and I am motivated and excited to give back to the community that has given so much to me. I aim to do this by establishing Ramage Law Office on Manitoulin Island and building a community-based practice.

I love the outdoors, my dog Gloria, and sugar bush season. My three favourite people are my three little brothers: David, Boston, and Bryce. I am a proud feminist and carry with me a passion for gender equality, the rights of victims of crime, and Indigenous sovereignty.
